Box Score 3 FARMINGTON, Maine -- The University of Maine-Presque Isle women's volleyball team dropped three matches this weekend during the UMaine-Farmington Invitational. The Owls will participate in a tri-match at the University of Maine-Machias next Saturday, October 22nd where they will face the host Clippers and the University of Maine-Fort Kent.
UMaine-Farmington 3, UMPI 1
The Beavers rolled 25-13 and 25-6 before the Owls battled back in the third set 25-15. UMF put UMPI away in the fourth set 25-18.
Marina Tello totaled seven kills in the win and Whitney Walls passed out 26 assists for the Beavers.
Karen Creighton (Sr./Sussex, New Brunswick) paced UMPI with six kills, while Samantha Roy (Fr./Van Buren, ME) recorded eight service aces.
UMFK 3, UMPI 0
In the nightcap on Friday, the Bengals rolled past the Owls, 25-5, 25-18, 25-14.
Savannah Ash set up UMFK with 24 assists, while Ericka Christensen had five service aces.
Elizabeth Kofstad (Fr./Presque Isle, ME) registered four kills in the loss, while Shaina Hood (So./Princeton, ME) had a match-high seven digs.
Lyndon 3, UMPI 2
In their lone match on Saturday, the Owls (2-17) jumped out to a 2-1 set advantage before the Hornets (5-12) rallied back for the 5-set win, 17-25, 25-23, 24-26, 25-21, 15-11.
Kayla Cormier led Lyndon with seven kills and seven digs, while Maegan Fried came through with six kills and six service aces.
Karen Creighton (Sr./Sussex, New Brunswick) posted a match-high eight kills for UMPI with Randi Kaplan (Fr./Embden, ME) collecting a match best with 12 digs.
