Marrero Leads Owls in UNE Meet

Owls Compete in Ron Ouellette Invitational

BIDDEFORD, ME – The University of Maine at Presque Isle men's cross country team traveled to the University of New England to compete in the annual Ron Ouellette Invitational 8K race this past weekend. The men's team finished ninth in the invitational as Endicott walked away with the win, scoring 54 points as a team.

Dylan Marrero led the Owls in his first race of the year, finishing 13th of the 98 runners. Marrero finished the race in a time of 29:32.5 with a 5:56.5 mile split. Stephen Grierson was the next Owls runner to finish as he ran the 8K race in a time of 31:01.9 to give him a 6:14 mile split and a 38th place finish. First year runner Westley Dyer finished in a time of 31:39.2 and a 46th place finish. Gabriel Muir finished his first college race in 35:36 while Ezra Leach was the final Owls runner to cross the finish line with a time of 37:33.2.

In just their second meet of the year, the Owls have continued to improve as a young team. With former NAC All-Conference runner Marrero and many promising young runners, the Owls will look forward to their next meet at Bowdoin College. The Bowdoin Invitational 8K Race takes place Saturday the 24th.
