Owls Fall to Terriers

WATERVILLE, MAINE – The Owls softball team took on the Thomas College Terriers in a North Atlantic Conference doubleheader. The Terriers would complete the NAC sweep with a 0-14 and 2-8 victory, this brings the Owls to a 4-3 NAC record.

Game 1: 0-14 Terriers

The Terriers jumped out ahead early with six runs in the first including a grand slam by Mclntyre. The Terries would go on to score in each inning for the remainder of the game, all while putting on a great performance on the mound. Currier for the Terriers recorded a no-hitter vs the Owls, walking just two batters and recording four strikeouts. Hailey Saylor started the game for the Owls and Megan Buchholz pitched the final two innings of the game.

Game 2: 2-8 Terriers

This time it was the Owls who started the game off with two runs in the second inning to take an early lead. The runs came off a bases loaded walk and a SAC fly by Saylor. In the third the Terriers bounced back to tie the game at two. Although the Terriers continued their runs in the fourth to take a two run lead. Another four runs came in the remaining innings while the Owls struggled to bring in runs.

Gracelyn Walsh pitched the complete game for the Owls allowing five earned runs and 12 hits. The Owls would finish the game with six hits and four batters walked.
