UMPI Men's Soccer Host Terriers

PRESQUE ISLE, MAINE – The Owls men's team hosted North Atlantic Conference opponent Thomas College. The Terriers of Thomas earned the win, 4-0 to advance them to 3-1-5 on the year. The Owls now sit 0-7-1 on the year and 0-2 in the NAC.
 
The Terrier came out with an early goal, scoring in the 9th minute of the game to give them an early lead. The teams then battled with some back-and-forth play, fighting for possession. The teams then went into the half, Thomas had the edge with six shots to the Owls four in the first half. In the second half the Terriers would come out with an early goal, scoring their second goal in the 46th minute. Later in the half, the Terriers would score back-to-back goals in the 57th and 58th minute of the game.
 
The Terriers finished the game with 14 shots and eight of which were on goal, compared to the Owls seven shots, one on goal. Remar Shirley led the Owls on the attack with four shots, one of which were on goal. Xavier McAtee spent the game in goal for UMPI, finishing with four saves.
 
 
Next Up: The Owls will host another NAC opponent in Maine Maritime Academy in a mid-week game, Wednesday.
