MALDEN, MA
The last time UMPI and Fisher met up, it was exactly a week prior up in Presque Isle. The Owls drew first blood with a counter-attack goal, before Fisher scored the next three to take a 3-1 victory in a very physical battle. Despite the score last time, it was a totally different story down on Fisher's home turf.
How it Happened:
Unlike in Presque Isle, the Falcons wasted no time to get the scoring barrage started. The Falcons scored in the 5th and 9th minutes to take a 2-0 lead before the scoreboard even read 35:00 remaining in the first half. They continued to apply pressure, making it 3-0 in the 17th minute. Things settled from there for the rest of the first half however, as the Owls kept the Falcons off the board while putting up a couple of shots of their own to try and get on the board. 3-0 is how it would stay the rest of the half.
In the second half, Fisher picked up where they left off, scoring twice in a span of 40 seconds, to put the game away. The latter of the two goals gave Fisher's Santiago Blancuzzi a hat trick on the day.
The Falcons weren't done from there, making it 6-0 in the 69th minute, and then two more quick ones with less than ten minutes to go made it 8-0 as it would finish with that score.
Top Performers:
Isaac Doore paced the Owls with three shots, two of which were on goal as he was just one of two field players (along with Joel Cormier) to stay out there for all 90 minutes. Star Boma put one shot on frame, while Cormier and Billy Wray each had a shot. Danny Argueta had two shots off the bench for UMPI. The Owls finished with eight shots, and three on goal.
Brett Senal played all 90 in net for UMPI, making nine saves on the day.
