Michael Boone graduated from UMPI in the fall of 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education. He played golf in high school and continued his athletic career at UMPI in 2018 after transferring from the University of Maine. Boone's return to UMPI as head golf coach brings his athletic and academic journey full circle.
In addition to his academic and athletic background, Boone has dedicated himself to education and coaching within the Presque Isle community. He is currently an 8th grade teacher at Presque Isle Middle School and has just completed his fifth year teaching in the district. Boone's coaching experience is extensive, having been involved with MSAD1 for seven years. During this time, he served as the Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach for three years and the JV Boys Basketball Coach for the last two years.
"Golf is a sport I have always been passionate about and I am excited for the opportunity to take over the program at my alma mater," Boone said.
