University of Maine at Presque Isle

Coach Jonathon Bowman began his coaching career at UMPI in the Fall 2016 as the Head Coach of the Owls Volleyball Program.

Prior to his most recent assignment, Bowman worked for the United States Youth Volleyball League in Long Beach, California and coached multiple teams for TCA Junior Olympic Volleyball in Newport Beach for nine years.

Bowman also has extensive experience in collegiate volleyball.  He has been on the coaching staffs at the University of Wyoming, University of Maryland-Baltimore County, College of Holy Cross, Loyola College in Maryland, and University of Rochester.  He has worked for multiple Junior Olympic Volleyball Clubs and summer camps across the country.

In his tenure at UMPI the Volleyball team has grown in leaps and bounds.  The team has seen a dramatic increase in numbers, and a marked improvement in every statistical category.  He has coached several all-conference players and made the playoffs every year.

Bowman will have other duties at the University.  In addition to coaching volleyball, he will serve as an instructor in the physical education department and is the intramural director.
