Farmington, ME — The University of Maine at Presque Isle women's basketball team took on their North Atlantic Conference opponent U-Maine at Farmington in their first conference game of the year. UMF left with the win, with a final score of 79-51. 

After a close first half, 19-14 in UMF's favor the Beavers took control of the game in the second quarter with a 44-24 lead going into halftime. The game from there was back and forth as the Owls fought back, but the lead was too big as UMF continued to perform on the defensive end. 

UMPI was led by Taylor Miller (Jr. Weeki Wachee, FL) with 15 points on 60% shooting and going 2-5 from three. Mariah Dunbar (Fy. Canaan, ME) finished with a near double-double, as she put up 11 points and nine rebounds. 

UMPI will finish their double header vs Farmington tomorrow for a 1:00 PM tip.
