Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Owls Fall to Mariners

PRESQUE ISLE, MAINE – The UMPI Owls women's soccer team falls to 0-3 in the North Atlantic Conference as they hosted Maine Maritime Academy in a conference match. The Mariners went on to win 6-0 to advance to 2-2 in the NAC.
 
The Mariners took an early lead in the match, scoring in the 10th minute of the game. Two more goals came in the 22nd and 25th minute of the first half to give them a 3-0 lead going into halftime. At the half, the Mariners had 12 shots while holding the Owls to zero. The second half MMA was able to keep the pressure on UMPI, scoring two more goals in the 66th and 68th minutes, and finishing it with a goal in the 85th minute. The Mariners finished the game with 26 shots and 15 on goal to the Owls three shots and one on goal. Marissa Havey spent the 90 minutes in goal for UMPI, finishing the game with nine saves.
 
 
Next Up: The Owls will host a pair of NAC West teams this weekend.
