Owls Fall to Falcons in Doubleheader

NORTHBOROUGH, MASSACHUSETTS – The Owls baseball team traveled down to Mass. to compete in their non-conference doubleheader vs Fisher College. The Falcons completed the sweep on the day as they took the first game 6-4 and the second 11-1.

Fisher got it going with a run in the first inning of the first game to give them an early lead. The Owls would answer right back with a two-run second to take the lead. Runs coming off an RBI single by Payton Jones, bringing fellow Floridian Timothy Burns home. Preston Bass then brought Joey Blake home off a sacrifice fly.

The Falcons bounced back with a tying run in the second. Following with a run in the third and two in the fifth to give Fisher a 5-2 lead. In the Sixth is would be Timothy Burns to bring the Owls within one off a two run homer, his second of the year. Although the two run homer was not enough as the Falcons put the exclamation point on the win with another run in the sixth.
Dakota Morrow pitched the complete game for the Owls with four earned runs allowed. While Yadiel Cuadrado earns the win and the complete game for the Falcons.

The second game started early for the Falcons with five runs in the first inning, including a two run homer. Another six runs followed in the next four innings to give the Falcons an 11-0 run. All while the Owls were unable to get on the board. This was until the 6th where a couple walks and some wild pitches led to a run for the Owls.

Chadwick Garrett started for the Owls, pitching the first two innings. Jordan Young and Branden Oliver each pitched as well, Oliver led the way with three strikeouts in his two innings. Angel Alicea earned the win for the Flacons as he struck out 13 in his six innings.

The Owls will face off against the Falcons in another doubleheader, 10:00 AM is the first game start time.
