WATERVILLE, ME

For the second straight weekend UMPI's Track and Field squads traveled to Colby College for a meet. This time, however, they would compete in the North Atlantic Conference Championships. A two-day event, that saw some adverse weather conditions, the Owls battled and compete well with the Men bringing home a fourth-place finish.

Men: 62 Points

It was Xavier McAtee who headlined the weekend for UMPI. McAtee is no stranger to success in the field events, as he won the Discuss event a year ago, with a 40.28 meter throw. He successfully defended his title in this year, finishing first with a 40.22m mark, just 6 centimeters shy of last year's winning toss, in much worse conditions. McAtee also finished third in shot put, throwing 11.13 meters.

Hayden Bay (3^rd) and Joey Doll (5^th) were in right behind their teammate with discuss throws of 35.88m, and 28.68m respectively. Bay also finished 4^th in shot put, with a throw of 10.89 meters.

Doll placed 4^th in Javelin as well, hurling the spear 35.81 meters.

Isaac Doore finished 2^nd in the 400 meters, just five hundredths of a second behind the leader as he took home silver.

Westley Dyer ran in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing 3^rd in the event with a time of 1:06.32.

Jovain Barrett came in 4^th in the high jump as he leaped 1.80 meters, while Alessandro Marroquin came in 5^th in Pole Vault, with a 3.05 meter jump.

Women:

On the Women's side, Evelyn Elijah had the three best finishes for the Owls, all three of them top 10. Her best: a 9^th place finish in shot put with a throw of 8.5 meters. Her two 10^th place finishes in Discuss and Javelin, came in at 22.96m, and 21.18m respectively.

Rylie Kolkow had a 12^th place finish in discus with a throw of 22.34 meters. She also finished 16^th in shot put with a 7.23 meter mark.
