Box Score PRESQUE ISLE, ME – The SUNY Canton Roos (5-5) would take an early lead and their defense would hold it as the UMPI Owls (1-6) would drop a 3-0 decision at home.
The Roos would get two quick goals to start the game. Madison Rowe (FR, Brushton, NY) would score in the fourth minute, and Kristina DiNardo (SR, Ottawa, ON) would get one in the sixth minute. In the 12th minute Rebecca DiNardo (SR, Ottawa, ON) would let loose a long shot that would bounce over the keeper and into the net.
SUNY Canton would control possession throughout, taking 25 shots, 13 of them on goal, compared to the Owls' four shots and one on goal. UMPI keeper Allie Lopez (SR, Kingfield, ME) would get credit for ten saves.
The Owls take to the road next weekend as they will visit Maine Maritime on Sunday. That game is scheduled for 2 pm.
