Castine, ME – The UMPI Owls competed in their first North Atlantic Conference match of the year vs Maine Maritime Academy. The Owls went on to lose the game, 5-1 bringing them to a 0-1 NAC record.

The game was even for the first 15 minutes of the match, as both teams fought for any edge. MMA was able to sneak a goal in past Savanah Rodriguez in the 15^th minute, followed by another goal at the 22-minute mark, giving them a two-point lead. The Owls were able to answer back just before the half with a goal by Rhylee Kinney (Presque Isle, ME) in the 42^nd minute. The Mariners second half put the game away with goals in the 51^st, 55^th and 67^th minutes to extend their lead.

The Owls will finish the weekend hosting Fisher College Falcons in UMPI's first home game of the year.
