Owls Fall to Beavers in NAC Opener

Box Score FARMINGTON, MAINE – The Owls women's soccer team competed in their first North Atlantic Conference match of the year, facing off against the University of Maine at Farmington Beavers. The Beavers went on to win 8-0 to hand the Owls their first NAC loss of the year, falling to 0-7 on the year.
 
The Beavers started it off with a goal in the 11th minute of the game to get them going. Two more goals came back-to-back in the 21st and 22nd minutes of the game. The pressure kept coming as the Beavers scored another two goals before the end of the half. In the second half, the team would go on to score their other three goals of the game. Audrey Fletcher would end the game with four goals and one assist to complete the haul in their first NAC game of the year.
 
The Beavers finished the game with 31 shots, 21 on goal to the Owls two shots, both on goal. Marissa Havey spent the game in goal for UMPI, finishing with 12 saves on the day.
 
 
Next Up: The Owls will host Thomas College in another NAC match up on Saturday.
